About me
I believe we all have the capacity to grow, but life experiences can leave us stuck in patterns that limit that growth. Because our difficulties often begin in relationships, I see therapy as a chance to experience a different kind of relationship — one where old patterns can be understood, worked through, and healed. Clients I work with often find therapy helps them reduce anxiety and self-criticism, feel more confident in themselves, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
You are always at the centre of the work. Together we’ll explore the difficulties you’re facing, the feelings and beliefs that come with them, and the purpose they may once have served. We’ll also experiment with new ways of being, so that what you discover in therapy can translate into more choice and freedom in your everyday life.
My approach draws on Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Person-Centred psychotherapy, enriched by neuroscience and philosophy. At heart, I believe it is better to face our fears than to avoid them — and my role is to provide a safe and supportive relationship where that becomes possible. Therapeutically I have experience in many different areas, these include (but are not limited to); family and relationships, anxiety and depression, self esteem, trauma, anger, substance use, shame, loss, grief and separation, sexuality, race and gender.
I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and have a Certificate in Therapeutic Skills & Studies. I am currently in the final year of a 5 year masters at Metanoia Institute, one of the leading clinical and academic institutions for psychotherapy in the UK.
On our first meeting we will explore what has brought you to therapy and how you hope it can help. This is also a good opportunity to check out if I am the right therapist for you, as this is such an important part of successful therapy.
